ABOUT ME
Hello, I’m Katherine, an award-winning artist and architect based in my home town of Cardiff, Wales.
After 11 years of architectural training, working in various practices and bringing buildings to life, I realised I could help people connect with places in a new way. Taking inspiration from my architecture experience, I started creating meticulously detailed drawings of properties and landscapes that had real meaning for people. Today, I use my pens, inks and watercolours to draw landmark properties, universities, first homes, wedding venues and cities to name a few! I’m proud to say that my artwork now hangs on hundreds of walls and evokes precious memories for people all over the world. |
Where my Memory Boxes Began
My love of helping people connect to their favourite places took a new turn in 2016 when I started creating memory boxes. If I’m being honest, these pieces of art started as something of a happy accident. It all began with a trip to Mexico and Central America. While I was away travelling, I decided to collect a small item from every place I visited and returned home with a rucksack full of tiny treasures. I didn’t want to bury them in a drawer where I’d never see them, but I also didn’t want the small objects to look lost on a big shelf. So, I crafted a vintage box to house each item and displayed it on my wall. Every time I looked at the box, it brought back so many fond memories, I started making them for friends and family too. It turned out they loved them. And before too long, my memory box business was born. |
The Here and Now
Today, alongside creating my architecture-inspired drawings, I spend time crafting beautiful memory boxes for individuals and organisations. Each handcrafted piece holds a curated collection of treasured objects that give people a unique way to remember a person, place, or time that matters most to them. Over the last two years, my artwork has been commissioned by many individuals, as well as the likes of St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust Slimbridge, the National Trust including Waddesdon Manor, Microsoft and the National Museum of Wales. |

Doing My Bit For The Planet
Animals and nature are a big part of my life, and preserving our planet is really important to me. As a result, all of my packaging is plastic-free, biodegradable and compostable. And any bubble wrap or plastic I do use has been taken from parcels sent to me. I partner with wildlife and animal charities that mean a lot to me, with a percentage of profits from certain ranges of drawings being donated directly to them. |
