Recently, a client contacted me with a special request. He asked if I could create a pen and ink drawing of two houses for his grandparent's golden wedding anniversary. He wanted me to draw their first homes, but not as they are now. Instead he asked me to draw them as they were when they first met – 50 years ago!
The process of drawing these first homes We started the process by discussing my client’s requirements on the phone and via email. He had some historical photos together with the addresses. I could find the houses as they are now on Google Street View and I had a couple of historical photos to get a sense of how they had changed over time. |

Creating the architectural line drawings
Using a combination of these historic photos and the current images from Google, I pieced together what the houses would have been like at the time they met. Using this collection of information, I started creating architectural line drawings that would represent his grandparents first homes. |

I was really pleased with the final pen and ink drawings – and his grandparents were delighted with their unique present.
