Modern Tonypandy "Houses" Print
My pen and ink illustration of Tonypandy pays homage to the unique character of this industrial town in South Wales. Typical to the area, this former coal mining town has a resemblance to the countless Welsh valleys communities that share a common heritage.
Through detailed linework, my pen and ink drawing displays the intricacies of Tonypandy’s terraced houses, nestled among the rolling South Wales hills and landscapes that have shaped the lives of generations. Each stroke of the pen and delicate wash of watercolour breathes life into intricate architectural details, inviting you to explore the stories etched within these old, Victorian homes.
As you delve into the artwork, you'll discover a collective narrative, where each house represents an individual dwelling, yet together, they symbolise the resilience, camaraderie, and shared experiences of the Welsh mining communities. This drawing serves as a poignant tribute to the lives and stories that have unfolded within the very walls of these terraced streets.
